>my strategy for up and coming labels:

My strategy : desperately try and claw together enough money to press up
some twelve inches. Maybe you'll be able to get 500 maybe only 100. If
you've got some good tunes and your lucky you'll sell all of them, and
maybe if your really lucky you'll have enough money to press up the next
single. Then if the original release becomes so sought after amongst a tiny
cadre of US music fans selling it to themselves for $300 a piece, ignore
them and move on with the next wicked tune.

>Too bad the car is
>overpriced and feeding the lame desires of the 18-25 year old hipsters.

Thats as maybe, but the adverts are nice. I got the shock of my life when I
heard Spiritualized coming out of my TV. And then the Orb too... Sounds
like some of those hipsters are in the advertising department.

>One thing - why do only the European car companies use this type of
>music in their advertising?

Cos only europeans are cool.

>It's a site which archives the playlists of Coldcut's Kiss FM radio show
>"Solid Steel".

And if you actually want to hear the show you can either move to London, or
go to
www.subaudio.net. The shows are a little hard to find (unless you speak
German) but hit the sendezentrum button, then the subradio button, then
scrolldown the left hand frame - all sorts of tasty realaudio treats.

cheers,
