> alright, this aint IDM, but close enough. > anyone know which song from Yo La Tengo's "I can hear the heart beating > as one" has a video? i've seen it once. it's got the absolute best scene > to ever exist in any music video. it goes like this as far as i can > recall: > two people in a classroom. on passes a note to the other. the note reads > "Do you like TRIP-HOP? Yes ( ) No ( ) Maybe ( )" > godDAMN that's some funny shit. > so what video am i thinking of? Possibly one of the best videos ever, "Sugarcube". Don't remember who directed it, but the premise is that YLT start off with a pretty generic video of them playing their instruments. Cut to them in label office getting bitched out by label guy saying "Do you want my family to starve? What did my family ever do to Yo La Tengo?" then he sends them to RockSchool<tm>. Lotsa fun stuff, one of the guys from Spinal Tap playing a Kiss wannabe, learning about Hobbits and the lyrics of Rush, Ira getting caught in the bathroom playing a clarinet (? I think). #1 - arena #0 - indie rock club It may not be IDM, but everyone should check this video out for sure, it's total art, and the album is really good as well. I remember the first time I saw the "Do you like triphop?" bit, I nearly peed my pants laughing.
