i forwarded this IDM post about pluxus to jason from suction records,
because i know he likes them... this is what he said:

----------->i've been thinking of getting the new Pluxus album,

>any comments on the album?

The new Pluxus album, Fas 2, is excellent! A friend
was nice enough to send it to me recently and i have
been enjoying it ever since. To those who don't know
the sound of Pluxus, imagine the sound of Solvent
or Lowfish mixed with almost a poppy New Wave
sound. Other comparisons would be to some of the
Ersatz Audio, Isan, and maybe even Bochum Welt
output. A thoroughly entertaining release. Check
it out!

---> that's an interesting comparison. we'll be releasing a track by
pluxus
on our upcoming 10" compilation along with lowfish, tinfoil teakettle and
brioche kretzaal... i think pluxus is quite a bit more crass than those
comparisons. they're also very much from the indie-pop side of things;
like
i was telling you they seem to play most of their synth lines live to old
preset drum machine patterns. the recording quality is dodgy but totally
appealing, and they have a wicked sense of melody that's sorta new wave
(omd, depeche), sorta 70s-ish (early kraftwerk, sky label stuff), sorta
90s
(every so often i'm reminded of i-f or afx or boards of canada, but i'm
quite sure it's mostly a fluke).

as for "fas2", a few tracks are too "live" (in an add n to x kinda way)
for my robot tastes but then a few tracks on there are definitely amongst
the best tracks i've heard in a while, especially "genie 44"...-----
