no - markant has talent.
seriously - i find his chord progressions and arrangements extremely
moving, with no dippy melodies a la rdj, mike p, dmx. nothing rephlex has
ever really done has ever really done anything for me (except squarepusher
and seefeel). markant, however, combines the moving chord progressions and
string usage of old-skool detroit and older autechre, with some vaguely
hip-hoppish beats found on the mancunian labels, with the sense of space
and depth found on CR/BC/M records.
