scorn - anamnesis
possible/invisble

was never so super into scorn, but the material here, all unreleased
or on harder to find comps/releases, is all in the vein of the more
heavy dub scorn that i enjoy. tracks 1-3 are peel sessions and are
just tops. the rest of the collection is exactly what you'd expect from
scorn heavy dubwise, pretty good stuff. last track is the super hard to
get 2nd coil remix which is a nice bonus.

///rant///

i lost alot of respect for mick harris the end of last year when i caught
his posts regarding invisble to the dub terrorist webpage. he came
across as a prick and it affected how i heard his music (at least for a
while :) *but* i also assumed that his remarks were probably not completely
unfounded, although i'd no background knowledge of the workings of
invisible records. but in one of the mags i picked up today, caught an
ad for labreport.com. if you don't know, lab report is this great dark
ambient project that released a few lustmordesque release that i really
dug (on invisible) but it appears that lab report to have had big problems
with the label. seeing that invisible is parent to possible, was wondering
what the deal was. its also home to not breathing and dvoa, two other
bands i really enjoy. is invisible screwing artists? is possible still harris's
label?

the weakener - what do you know about it
wordsound

who turned me onto wordsound? either 606 or tar, whichever, thanks.
this is more dub heavy, but much more trippy, maybe a wee bit of
hip hop in there. quality stuff, better than the above scorn and much
better than the EoE veve release on the same label. the musicw is
so suited for any of the wordsound vocalists to be mumbling over
and was really happy. dark, twisted and moody and maybe some
of the best harris i've ever picked up. wordsound rocks.
