> Any comments on the "Headz" comps on Mo Wax? > Worthwhile? IMO the first one is a must buy for tr*p-h*p, which is saying something. Makes an excellent album and contains some great stuff. Old gems from DJ Shadow before he brought out his uncohesive and highly overrated LP (IMO). You also get some great unknown bits plus tracks from the Mo'Wax regulars, all in a jazzy funky instrumental hip-hop headnod style. Everything that this genre should have been in other words. As for Headz 2, just two words - too big. It spans 2 volumes both of which are far too huge to take and and contain loads of stuff that came out already on Mo'Wax and other labels. Both parts are pretty expensive, so much so that I didn't buy them the first time around, so I can't comment on the content too much, other than that there's probably some excellent tracks on here buried away. If you're prepared to compiled both volumes into one excellent tape then it's probably worth getting. If you want something you can just put on an listen to all the way through, probably not. Anyway, I have the three sampler 12" that came before it. The Dillinja track is pretty good, didn't make too much of the Peshay, the classic Shadow and Krush cuts are excellent and the techno sampler was a bit disappointing. So there you go, Graham. -- [b]r[e]a[k]b[e]a[t] [e]r[a] _ Roni Size Reprazent Krust Die Suv Full Cycle Dope http://www2.prestel.co.uk/lwtcdi/era/ Dragon V Philly Blunt Chronic Protocol [profiles][discographies][sounds][interviews][news]
