Which >is not to say that it's not purely hypothetical...or isn't it? I generally hate 'big radio' stations, and *leave* it on NPR public radio 95% of the time, but sometimes even it gets lame, so I *have* to put it on the 'big stations' on my 40 minute drive to work-home. I too have noticed various IDM audio snippets on a few stations and actually brought it up in a chance conversation I had with station employees. As youd imagine, there is no music 'alternative' or standard stations hate more than the same 10 songs they HAVE to play all day - so they bring their own music from home whenever they have a chance and cram it into lil segways and skits every chance they get. Its their only chance to air something they actually like. As far as whose against IDM on the radio? Im not against big radio, and dont wanna start a thread on "radio sux" , but radio is a business and must cater to mega-labels and the masses. If you play something no one likes for too long, no ratings. very simple.. As a hardcore die-hard Apple lover and Mac user (PC hater) I know what its like to be shunned by 95% of my professional 'colleagues' so im used to loving what others hate or dont understand ;) Whose supportive of IDM? The web has many great radio shows (Lance's inaudible show http://www.wcsb.org for example) and if you wait till late at night on weekends in a big city (or college town) Im sure youll find cool music if you search hard enough. sorry if this is an old topic no flames please, ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-1156 Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircaft Systems Fort Worth, Texas
