Terry Callier is one of the most awesome of jazz/soul/folk
singer/songwriters ... from Chicago, when I first caught him a few years
back at the Jazz Cafe in London, it was one of those so rare, spine tinglin
ecstatic of nights, he had the most hardcore guys in the room wipin away
the tears, the whole room silent in respect for this incredible talent.

'Love Theme from Spartacus' is a mix with Roy Davis and is totally sublime,
heard it again on Sunday night when listening to Gilles Peterson's sublime
set on Kiss, after LUke Vibert had just played a stormin 2 hours, Aciiid,
The Muppets, Human League, John Foxx!!!, and lots of his new tracks from
the album coming out in September.

There is also the remix with 4 Hero, maybe thats the one you've heard.

You've gotta check out his old stuff tooo tho, Dancing Girl, Occasional
Rain, Do you finally need a friend, I just can't help myself ... 'the
forgotten prince of Chicago soul' indeed, he'll tear your heart out.

Madonna was down Rephresh last week and I've seen her down the Blue Note
checkin the London scene out now she's moving here ... so she's gettin on
the right track, yet to see her dancin tho!
