Studio 1 is (was) a sublabel of Mike Ink's Profan label. The 10 releases you're
seeing are the entire Studio 1 catalog - they've been repressed, they're
actually about 2 years old. It is indeed similar to Basic Channel/CR/etc, but in
my opinion it's a bit funkier and more quirky. All tracks on all 10 records are
by Mike Ink (real name: Wolfgang Voight, right?)

The assumption I've always had is that Studio 1 (actually 'Studio Eins', since
it's a German label) was a reference to the famous reggae studio "Studio 1".
Anybody confirm or deny that? The reggae influence is definitely in there.

"Gold" is my favorite, btw.
