so. i picked up mark van hoen's playing with time.

i think it is one of the most baffling, amazing things i have heard in
sometime.. beautiful beautiful music.. with some odd moments.. often
sounding like glitches from a live performance (but dont let that scare
you off, its sooo good).

i thought this was live at first.. and then decided it most likely wasnt..
finally got around to looking at the liner notes, and here is what it
says:

"this is a non-real time recording that's not meant to sound like a 'live'
recording. all the best recordings since the early part of the 20th
century are like that as well. the reason why they're so cool is because
time is not linear."

non-real time recording? anyone care to fill in my ignorant head here? :)

i'll be playing a piece from this on kuci tonight, 7-8pm ish, PST.

l'usine, scanner, music and/or words from the christian science view

1/execrate:configuaration release (leaf).. and of course, more :), given
enough time...
