(idm) house is not a home

true, yet I feel like something's missing in this dialogue... a defining=
characteristic of good "idm" is that it rewards a concentrated home listen.=
certain kinds of house music records defy home listening, because one=
simply can't hear them (at home) the way they are intended to be heard.=
that is to say, they're made like rolls of patterned fabric that DJ's can=
creatively use as building materials to create sets and montages in a club.=
to really sit and concentrate on them in isolation can be kinda boring. it=
don't have to do with body vs mind or its relative intelligence, it's just=
a function of the intended use of the recording.
