An interesting little blurb in the new Jockey Slut.

...And Introducing 'Brain Dance'

The Aphex Twin's label Rephlex have launched a new genre they're
calling 'Brain Dance' TM, as part of an 'arses and minds' campaign
to lend the label greater visibility. Says the company's Grant Wilson
Claridge, "We thought it up when we were off our heads. It's sort of
trying to sound intelligent and failing, which is just us really." When
asked for a definition of 'Brain Dance' TM, the following statement
arrived by fax: "What is Brain Dance? That is the beauty of it - only
we know. But feel free to phone up and we will make something up
for you."

Meanwhile, packages of 'Brain Dance' TM records were delivered
in Easter baskets by Easter bunnies to various journalists, including
releases by Chaos AD (Squarepusher), Caustic Window (Aphex Twin),
and DMX Krew, and a bizarre video of the Rephlex crew on tour.

But the much-heralded launch of May's Blech in London at the
Powerhaus got off to a shakey start when Richard James played
one record only for the electricity to go off. Said an Aphex spokes-
person: "He was hoping to take the world by storm with his new
brand of music, but he was foiled by London Electric." Rumors of
a deliberate conspiracy were strenuously denied by London Electric.
"We've never heard of this Aphex or his Twin" said a power company
spokesperson.
