hi, normally i lurk but on this subject i thought it'd be good to speak up...being that i'm female and all :o) | | Indeed, I like many of you, am mystified about the definite lack of |female IDM fans. Perhaps not many women are into IDM because not maky women |make IDM? I think this is a close to correct statement. but IMO its not the lack of female producers, its simply that more females have no idea what IDM is. i love IDM and without knowing it, have for years. i stopped being so involed with the whole techno scene about 3 years ago when i had a child, but still continued to collect vinyl, just recently some friends were over flipping through my stuff and informed me that most of my collection is IDM. i really had no idea because i just collect what i love and at that point it wasn't labeled IDM. Think about it, 98% of IDM acts are male, but then again, many cock |rock acts are male too... Perhaps IDM needs more sexy front men? Nah... nah ... i love brilliant talented geeks with keyboards :oP | I dunno, personally speaking, my girlfriend is one of the biggest IDM |fans I know of, and she mike paradinas' most fervent supporter. What is it she |sees in the music? According to her, it has more "color" than any other music |she has been exposed to, and I agree with her. I agree with you and her both, its very deep and so intricate. i think most people just don't understand it and dislike it because of this. Oh, and she also finds the |music quite sexy, DITTO!! its VERY sexy. but maybe she's just an exception, and IDM is really a guy |thing... oh no no no! not at all!
