>um.. I remember someone wrote a message saying that he wanted to talk about >music.. so, let's talk about Bisk. Anyone know more than the bare essentials >about this guy? I have his "Time" CD, and it's quite good. Bisk appears to >be a master of making music that is easy to make a picture of in your head.. >good stuff. one of the most-worth-talking-about of whom i have the least to say...he's naohiro fujikawa. he's released a few tracks on space teddy under his own name, and two albums (_time_ and _strange or funny ha-ha?_) on sub rosa as bisk. i also saw a listing this week for a split 12-inch featuring bisk and multiphonic ensemble (bisk on vinyl!!). finally, bisk is meant to have a track on the forthcoming sub rosa compilation, _water and architecture_, also featuring bundy brown, atom heart, and seefeel. in short, bisk makes some of the most advanced, sophisticated post-dance electronic music i've ever heard. a roiling stew of compositional reference points encompassing jazz, ambient, electro, hip-hop, drum'n'bass, post-classical/noise, even academic algorithmic metamusic...amazing stuff. sc
