ouch. I've never followed this synth, I put it in the "oh okay cool they
copied an old synth people like" category. but watching this video,
there's a lot of features hidden behind "double tap this button" and
"hold this button while pressing this other button" type interfaces. (do
we have a name for this??)

Also using those generic 1-8 buttons for specific features that aren't
labelled. how am I supposed to remember that holding down a button and
turning a knob to 6 is how I get the arpeggiator to play dotted 8th notes?=
?

once there is a microcontroller inside an instrument, features become
essentially free to implement when no additional buttons or switches are
required. i mean this is great, woo features.. but us synth people are
the same ones that left all our dx7's at factory presets, so I don't
know who the designers are expecting to memorize all these unlabelled
functions??

in fact it sort of takes away from the appeal that analog synths have
had recently, and that is clear 1 control per-function layouts where
what you see is what you get. once you start burying important settings
behind "tap this twice for that mode" or "hold x and y together for n
seconds and then move the whatever knob to suchandsuch to change yer
blahblah", you've completely missed the original appeal. but wtf do i
know..
