I remember seeing a piece on Autechre in the NME in 94 or 95 when they
said that they hated Drum'n'bass and then went on to diss it big time.

Perhaps they said this coz of the pre-dominance of ragga at the time
and of ignorance of the other facets of the music and because it was
mainly a London 'ting to begin with. Perhaps this attitude was
widespread within Warp at the time.

The lesson here is, of course, never dismiss a genre of music, coz
sooner or later some genius will come out that scene and make you look
a fool. 

Remember this when Warp release their first Country & Western breakbeat
single.
