Perhaps they said this coz of the pre-dominance of ragga at the time and of ignorance of the other facets of the music and because it was mainly a London 'ting to begin with. Perhaps this attitude was widespread within Warp at the time. The lesson here is, of course, never dismiss a genre of music, coz sooner or later some genius will come out that scene and make you look a fool.
