[note this is commentary, this has little to do with new releases or
anything like that]

i haven't really read this list in ages or paid any fucking attention to
what you IDM'ers are into lately. So I talk with my homeboy Will Samuels
almost daily. So he tells me that this list is still yapping about
Rephlex being the bomb-ass IDM label???? Ummm is this true??? He told me
he got in a flamewar with many IDM'ers about Rephlex and RDJ just this
week. ooooh man, how disappointing. I love RDJ and all, but he is OVER.
DONE, FINI. Got it. thank you.

Ok, I'm willing to bet you peeps are still yapping about SKAM and MASK
prices or someother old thread that never goes away- like females who
enjoy this music. Well
all I gots to say is Rather Interesting is where its at. RI releases are
LTD too, so pay attention please.

WHat I don't get is this list seems to really enjoy the new era of IDM,
what I often refer to as digital crunch stuff (sorry I have a poor way
with words) but I'm referring to the SCHEMATIC, SKAM, MAS, like stuff.
Lots of RI stuff, is bleepy and noodle roni, but if you listen and
listen well
you'll see RI was doing much of that style of programming for quite some
time now. If you really like DIGITAL, you all should talk about RI more
often. Go ahead and continue discussing whatever, but when I hear the
list is still discussing REPHLEX, I'm like "ugh. Give me a break."

now to make this anything ObIDM:
is most of JAKE MANDELL's stuff got that jungle flavor to it? I just got
some Prime something 12" by Jake Mandell (saw his name on the list, took
a chance) this guy ain't sooo great. Pretty much sounds like most other
IDM. Not really pushing any boundaries, but worth the 9bux, and I enjoy
the mix of jungle beats with the digi sound. I also have his Midwestern
release which also has some jungle type programming. now he has another
release on Worm Interface I believe, clue me in; do I expect the same?
Similar to this Midwest ep thing I have?

gilly
np: RI 42 (peeps who know how to program)
ps: The Suction 005 7" split is quite lovely, esp if you play Solvent's
track at 33, makes a nice mellow track. Just as good at 45.
