not re: bush/gore, but along the same lines (politicians saying and/or doing stupid things): our mayor here in Halifax, when asked about the great number of homeless people Halifax has, said--on camera, no less--: "No one should have to resort to begging on the streets--unless you're an alcoholic, drug addict, or mentally ill." This was a few weeks back and it's *still* makin' my head spin. (Thank goodness we're having a Mayoral election soon and we have a chance to vote this idiot out). On-topic IDM-wise: I'm currently enjoying the following vinyl (some purchased, some promos I was lucky enough to be given): --Dettinger--Oasis EP (Kompakt) --Doctor Rockit--Indoor Fireworks 2 X LP (Lifelike) --Languis/Safety Scissors 10" (Plug Research) --D'Enborage/Tronikgatan split 10" (Eat This) --Lo Soul--Belong 2 X LP (Kompakt) --tons of new records on Delsin (not sure if they're coming out consecutively catalog-wise, so not sure which are the newest ones, but Delsin has upped their quantity-level drastically recently while retaining a high quality level) andrew "home sick with a cold--sniff, sniff" duke :) np the sound of Karma (a Jack Russell/Staffordshire mix I got from the pound 9 days ago) throwing his beach ball and bones around the kitchen (upstairs); note to those snickering: I wanted to call the dog Kano (well, actually, wanted to call it Mantronik, but a dog should have a two-syllable name; Parrish (after Man) was misinterpreted by friends as Perish (and thus gory), Cybotron, Kraftwerk, and Atkins didn't "work", Saunderson had too many syllables, etc, so it's now Karma (good Karma, bad Karma, hopefully good Karma most of the time). not my choice, but Kano is now his middle name: Karma Kano Duke :) -- Cognition/Andrew Duke's In The Mix mailto:xxxxxxxxx@xxxxxx.xx http://techno.ca/cognition 1096 Queen St #123 Halifax NS Canada B3H 2R9
