Don=E2=80=99t fret, I=E2=80=99ve heard the effects of even order = distortion. It=E2=80=99s quite euphonic. It can even =E2=80=9Cfix=E2=80=9D= certain kinds of audio =E2=80=9Cproblems.=E2=80=9D (i.e. I=E2=80=99ve = heard emulated tube distortion turn harsh digital recordings into = smooth, silky audio) My point is that if you want distortion, there are plenty of ways to add = it that don=E2=80=99t also introduce fragile devices that also do = unwanted things like pick up subwoofer vibrations in a way that affects = the signal, and then wear out over time so that they have to be = replaced. Plus, paying through the nose for magic devices is against my = religion.
