I didn't go, simply because I didn't hear about it until it was already over.
I'm on the Digest and the Digest with Allan's message arrived the day after.
He told me that he'd just gotten back from WMC in Miami and hadn't really had
a chance to get the word out. I was at the last Public Space event, which had
Dimitry (Pthalo), Danny (Low Res) and John Tejada playing live with Joe &
Allan DJ'ing. There were about 50 people there that night, I think.

The non-standard ("experimental", Detroit, BC/CR-influenced, etc.) scene here
in L.A. *is* fairly small, but that's also due to lack of information flow.
If something doesn't show up on the SoCal-Raves calendar, or isn't sent out to
the Green Galactic (Public Space) snail mail list, etc. etc., then it's hard
to find out about. On the contrary, the "big names" tend to pull the people
out of the woodwork; Autechre at The Troubador was rammed to the gills. And
the building (one of several in use simultaenously) where RDJ played last
September was pretty jam-packed during his set.

Not from the IDM camp, I suspect. (-: I'd love to see Not Breathing, but
there was no way I was gonna pay all that money just to see him without Scorn.
(I was a huge Neubauten fan back in the day, but I kinda doubt I'd be into FM
Einheit now, and the less said about Pigface the better.)

If you want to see turnout, go to Neverland (with Neil Landstrumm, John Selway
from the 313 list, and others) next weekend or to the Ninja Tune event at The
Troubador on April 5th.
