Hiya. Just got a handful of goo in the mail, including the new plaid single and album. I can sympathize with those who may think that "Not For Threes" is a little bit jumbled, crazy, weird.... off-putting and maybe not the most concrete release. For me, the album is going to take a while to get into. Having been a Black Dog fan for years now, I gave "Music for Adverts..." its fair shot, and now Plaid gets its turn. I'll have a better opinion in a week. BUT.... Don't overlook the single, "Undoneson." Especially the track, Spudink. Now that is the oldish Plaid/BD era synth spalunking I remember from the olden days. Five minutes of beautiful, deeply moving melodies and playful rhythms. The title track is a bit too self-indulgent (i.e. dull and uninspired), and the last track, headspin, is also on the album. This may put people off to buy the single just for one track. But seriously, check it out! p.s. Did anyone feel that the album version of Abla Eedio was recorded a bit slow? :) Guess I've been listening to Blechsdottir a little too much.
