Hi, I noticed that my Doepfer A-131 VCA produces some kind of distorted noise in the background, only when something is played through it. As volume is increased, this "effect" becomes more noticable. I noticed this from the day one I got it delivered, but I though it was normal behaviour of inexpensive VCA above the input level 7 (from 0 to 10 on this VCA). Well, this distortion (unpleasant, digital-like) is present if input level is anything from 1.5 to 10! So, the question is: is every A-131 VCA like this? Mine is still under warranty (6 months old), so I could replace it. Or should I look for older A-131 (apparently, different chip)? Or should I get Doepfer A-109 (different VCA on it)?
