Part of the 303 characteristics finds it's source in the exact wave 
shapes and the resulting harmonics. That's something that should be 
considered before filtering even becomes relevant. Clone builders 
claim that only original transistors, as used by Roland in the VCO 
section, will do. Using others will result in a less authentic sound.
Maybe someone who owns a 303 and a scope could produce some screen 
shots of unfiltered 303 wave shapes?
