>> DJ Suv finally proves his worth, going fully solo for the first time >> (his track on the Versatility comp excepted), and weighing in with a >> release of serious quality. This release features four tracks "Everybody >> Plays The Same", "Free By Four", "Output" and "Standby On Stage". The >> former two are done in 3/4 time! Yes, that's drum and bass in 3/4!! >Big deal. Not to dis DJ Suv for being brave enough to venture outside the >confines of 4/4, but T-Power does 13/4, which is a bit more difficult. Difficulty doesn't really interest me that much. What I found interesting about this release was the way it doesn't collapse into noodling, like many artists who care stray into such territories often do. It is solid and funky, whereas I suspect that T-Powers effort sounds more like Mike Oldfield. And that's not to diss him either - I like what I have heard (although I haven't heard the track in question). All music has it's place, and Suv's will rock any place you care to mention - 4/4 or otherwise...
