greg: i'm with ya; like you say, you've got a certain amount of time each week and
it's like 'Im' starint the show here, where can i take them by the end?". i get a
lot of calls though, everything from backstreet boys (no word of a lie, it's
because the commercial stations that *would* play em are automated and don't
answer the phone) to beastie boys (happened again last week) to rap (happens every
show; i politely say i like a lot of rap/hip hop and have a lot in my collection,
but i don't play it on the show (which is the truth)) these tend to be the calls
from people who aren't even listening to the statino at the time, but know the
number so they call it, but i also get a lot of calls from people who
appreciate/understand the show, and that kind of feedback is the fuel that keeps
it all going. jsut 1 appreciative call after a live to air interview makes the
technical mishaps (it's university radio, after all) and craziness (most people
call just when you're in the middle of a mix, argh! ) disappear, jhust 1
appreciaive call aftert playing some experimental stuff makes up for 20 bs boys
requestw!. andrew :)
