well, i agree about autechre fitting in this catagory (with the exception
of 'mag') and horse opera having a real sense of hip hop, but the first PBO
12" really does have funk and groove, and innovation, but the rest of his
stuff is just rubbish.  trust me i love 'real' hip hop, and i can tell you
that this does fall into the catagory.  that said, here's something that's
been bothering me for quite a while, does anyone know where the vocal
sample on PBO's 'striffle' is from, i know the 'lockligger' 'no offense to
a player..' is De La, and the 'mic check' on the gescom remix is
bahamadia's 'three the hard way', but where's that striffle one from, i
know i've heard it before...

excellent, the allstars 12" was one of my favorites.  btw, what's the
possibility of me still finding one of the D.I.A.L. 12"s, i slept on this
for quite a while and recently dug out a tape of this someone gave to me a
long ways back, and i'd really like to get a hold of one...
