I'm going overseas from Australia on Wednesday, and would love it if some listmembers could give me tips on idm-ish and experimental places to go - both clubs and shops. First stop London. Then Amsterdam/Hollan, Brussels/Belgium, Luxembourg, Strasbourg, Paris. I don't expect to find much in some of these places, but others should be pretty great! Then I'm going round UK with a BritRail pass for a couple of weeks, so I'm interested in where to stop at. I sortof know, but in particular places in Manchester and Edinburgh/Glasgow/etc would be welcomed, and places round Nottingham, Birmingham, and wherever else. Is Sheffield worth visiting other than just because Warp records is there? After doing some gigs with my band FourPlay (electric string quartet) I'm going to New York for a few weeks. Again, I'd like to check out some of the stuff there, from the Asphodel type stuff to the Lucky Kitchen and RKK type stuff. I will be meeting Hrvatski there, and I probably don't need too much help, but still... Thanks in advance, Peter. -- Peter Hollo xxxxx@xxxxxxxx.xxx.xx http://www.fourplay.com.au/me.html FourPlay - Eclectic Electric String Quartet http://www.fourplay.com.au Raven: experimental electronic http://www.fourplay.com.au/sound.html "Of course, dance music can be a music where you lie on your back and your brain cells dance" -Michael Karoli of Can, quoted in Wire mag.
