>>I have just "rediscovered" Lo vol.1 EXTREME POSSIBILITIES >>and I am in heaven. I bought it when it came out and haven't >>listened to it in years. Now what can be said about the other >>3 vols? I remember #2 being jungle >>and #4 just came out at the local shop, but I haven't had >>time to listen. Besided the new one are #2 and #3 hard to find? I have volume 3 (United Mutations). I think it's at least as good as Vol. 1. Here's a track listing (my favorites are marked with an *): *1. Barbed: Vibrators Opens with a big siren like sound that repeats. Really nice sounding if it's really loud. 2. Luke Vibert: Controlling Transmission Has a sort of 50's sound to it. 3. Sycophants: second Ambient track with the sounds of plucked instruments with random horn sound in the background. *4. Springwheel Jack: Sweep Mellow sounding drum 'n bass track. 5. Ui: Out Sounds sort of like the Red Hot Chili Peppers (acoustic). 6. The Mellowtrons: I want you so mad because you're bad Dubby track with ambient sound threads. 7. Wormhole: headbanger The sounds of a tribal drum with bleeping noises accompanied by a breathing sound. 8. David Kristian: Strange mountaineers Drum n' bass track with interesting clicking noises. A nice mellow sound. 9. Tortoise: Why we fight Live drum set accompanied by a gamelon & guitar. 10. Margoo Sparse jazzy track. 11. Sycophants: Fourth Bits and pieces of sounds well up and scape against your face. 12. Thurston Moore/Infrastructure: Yvonne/thaw Strarts droney then mooves into a complicated mix of sounds. 13. Ui/Luke Vibert: Unknow Drum 'n bass track *14. Echo Park: Razor Kiss The members of Seefeel (minus Clifford) and members of MLO and Twisted Science collaborate to produce an upbeat/melancholy track. The sound of a wailing giutar is in the background with a distorted female voice over the top. Very cool. If you can find the 12" of Echo Park, there's another mix of this with tympani drums that is even better. 15. Newt: epsilon boot Sparse drum' n bass track with a sort of 'bouncy bass'. 16. Sycophants: First Manic sound collage 17. Mike Flowers Pops vs. The Aphex Twin Very similar to the latest Aphex Twin Releases with a 60's department store sound. *18. Stick Basin: Pin Ambient track with interesting highly processed vocal sounds (a lot of them sound like they've been processed through a ring modulator). 19. Sycophants: Third Another manic sound collage. Reminds me of many, many, mariachi (sp?) bands all playing together. -Jeremy ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.owt.com/users/conflux c o n f l u x ignotum per ignotius ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
