hi all, having been more or less lurking for a good while, thought i should pop up to mention the 'Net record label' I run, and which features a fair amount of idm-related releases. we've previously featured releases by Bogdan Raczynski (nowadays on Rephlex) and we've also produced the soundtrack to a Playstation computer game, "Tank Racer", that's just been released in Europe. Basically, there's two labels running out of our website at http://www.mono211.com , although both are interconnected. All releases are playable with Winamp, by the way, even the non-mp3 ones, and everything's freely downloadable.. mono211 (http://www.mono211.com/mono211.html) is a breakbeat label, putting out mp3s and mods mainly in the breakbeat/triphop/jungle style. there are several excursions towards the sorta squarepusher end of idm, though - i particularly recommend the Vim! mp3s and mods. We're also going to be putting out an mp3 from a Japanese collective called Wiggle who have an album featuring Cristian Vogel and Ken Ishii out in a month or two.. I'll try to post to the list when it's up there. monotonik (http://www.mono211.com/monotonik) is the idm sublabel, and puts out a bunch of sorta nice idm stuff. I'd recommend the mp3 by glacial Alaskan artist Jiva (sorta BoC-ish, if i'm making lazy comparisons), and the tracks by Distance on mp3 and mod (cute sine-wave-ish ambient idm stuff) and Serkul on mod and (soon) mp3 (Australian kinda Black Dog-esque techno). ok, please try to link to us, download our stuff, join our mailinglists, and so on.. we've had a bit of publicity (recently in the German magazine "De-Bug" and a while back in "DJ" magazine) but it'd be nice to get a little more noticed, I guess.. of course, that's only if we're actually worth it, heh. comments on the tunes welcome.. regards, h0l (simon) [xxx@xxxxxxx.xxx] ps - also try to check http://www.mono211.com/drfetid for a seriously weird idm/CRAZYmusic review page with all the tunes available for download - anything from Japanese noisecore through cut-up Danish folk songs to oldskool crack-intro tunes. "Dr.Fetid's Wizards Of The Sonic" is the name.. approach with caution :)
