Just picked up my copy of "Stars of the Lid: Ballasted Orchestra" and its GREAT.. Its long drony ambience is hypnotic and warm, kind of reminds me of Eno or GAS without the 'Microphon-Tinte' beats!!! ;) The track names are SPOT-ON: Central Texas Sun Drugs Down II Taphead Fucked Up (3:57 am) Music for Twin Peaks Episode #30 Part I&II The Artificial Pine Arch Song The liner notes say "Recorded in East Austin on a 4 Track" - *sigh*. Just listening to it reminds me of getting up artificially early after a great night of blissful partying and heading over to Flipnotics for an oversized cup of coffee and a mooched clove. Use one of your CDNow Coupons (and check out some RA snippets) and pick this up asap if you even think you like drony ambience - its quite yummy! I cant wait until the new album "Avec Laudenum" comes out! Till then Im filling up on their backcatalog!
