(idm) atom heart's _naturalist_, biophone, insomnia

_naturalist_ is a little more "obviously" poppy than _schnittstelle_. the
song's are in the sort of traditionalist format of the three minute pop
tune, with verse/chorus arrangements and sometimes even vocals. great
premise, but it just doesn't cohere, and ends up sounding, i think, a bit
trite. it's nowhere near the accomplishment of _schnitstelle_. i'm looking
forward to his next one, tho -- _dropshadow disease_ is meant to be a more
full-blown "neo-pop" album.

also, has anyone heard the first release on biosphere's biophone label?
i've got it on order, but i kinda don't know what to expect...

finally, speaking of biosphere, i finally saw _insomnia_ this weekend. a
really interesting experience, being so familiar with the music apart from
its cinematic content, then watching that relationship evolve...
