a question for PC mp3 listeners; similar to past threads - but in fact different! I have a CD full of songs encoded with Audiocatalyst (for Mac) and I put them on an ISO 9660 formatted CD to play on Win95/98.. WinAmp seems to have a nice enough interface and set of features, so I went with that and when I played the mp3s they sounded *Horrible* (see Brock Suter's post of Xing audio nightmares).. I figured it had something to do with the VBR feature, but supposedly WinAmp (2.10 is it??) supports that, but my beautiful 160k 44khz mp3s sound like 28.8 RealAudio files!! help! Is there a PC player with nice Playlist/ID tag features that can play Audiocatalyst ripped files well, or a plug in for Winamp that will enable it to do the same? All I know is the newest MacAmp plays them fine so there MUST be a Wintel product out there that can hack it too.
