Who posted about Little Axe recently? To my utmost surprise, while trawling through mainly crap 2nd hand CD's in what's a glorified pawn shop, I came across Little Axe's Slow Fuse (96) which comes with a second "Fusion" 10- track CD that I haven't listened to yet. (This second CD is not mentioned anywhere on the cover, so I don't know whether it was bundled this way by the original owner? Although lots of titles overlap and the release date is also '96. I shall investigate!) It's nothing much like Tack>Head or African Headcharge, essentially very blues infused vith heavy dub overtones, thanks to Adrian Sherwood's production. Steer well clear if you are allergic to vocals and the thought of a guitar makes you vomit :-) I'm only 6 tracks in so far, but it's an ideal accompaniment to South Africa's current exhausting heatwave - laid back and mellow but with lots of interesting things going on. And hello <?> Talvin Singh on tabla. The album cover states : " This album is the result of the love and care invested in me by my mom and dad. Love is for ever. " Quite so. I *
