hello again: many thanks to all who replied to my request for modular advice. the info is all very useful. i have another related question: has anyone on the list either owned or worked with both a doepfer and serge system? how do they compare, in your opinion? (other than price) perhaps from my earlier post i may have given the impression that i have no experience with modular synthesis. while i have never owned one the concepts are not new to me and i think i am leaning toward a hardware system as opposed to the nord. i also at the moment have the cash to invest in my " dream" system which may not happen again in the foreseeable future. so.... i feel like my time to do this is now. to sum this up: if i configured a somewhat identical system, in terms of modules, from both doepfer and serge, what would the differences be? (again, other than price). thanks again for listening and i hope i'm not taking up too much bandwith with this. i just want to make the right choice if there is such a thing. regards, anton
