I've been working on a review, and it's one of those records that's really, really hard to sum up. Very subtle, very *deep*, for lack of a better adjective. Will's right--trip hop isn't the right word at all, but it does capture some of the moodiness of the record. I think my favorite thing about it is the subtle blending of methods: it combines the synth washes of carl craig with really muted breakbeats (so filtered, i can't quite tell if they're sampled breaks or drum machine), and ever so sparingly drops in the odd sample of jazz horns. really gorgeous. Look for a full review on the upcoming Urban Sounds update. Phil ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
