i have to second this. there's some brilliant material here.  basically
covers all the bases. it's got the now infamous mos def/q-tip/tash
collab, another one with KRS, Last Emperor and the Rage Against the
Machine guy all going off against the CIA [it's called 'criminals in
action'].  Excellent spoken word over beats style stuff from Saul
Williams (who just added another reason to make me jealous of those of
you attending the diskono nights!) and Sarah Jones.  Intros and stuff by
Kool Keith/Sir Melinik and De La. Lots of underground shzitz like talib
kweli, Cipher Complete (any relation to the Cipher who just released an
album on Bomb?) My only complaint is that the J5 track had no cut chemist
scratch work outs or anything, and an overall lack of turntablist action,
but then again it is the LYRICIST lounge... it's excellent.
