Reviews for youze...

. Reflection: The Morerroronus World cd (Clear)
A nine track remix album featuring the knob-twiddling
talents of Morgan Gesit, Kirk Degiorgio, Plaid, 4 Hero,
Hidden Agenda, Freestyle Man and a few others. I never
listened to the original Reflection lp so i don't know
how the remixes compare but all the mixes are very
enjoyable experiments in jazz. From the lazy jungle
stylings of 4 Hero & Hidden Agenda to the detroit-esque
techno of Kirk Degiorgio and Morgan Geist to the unique
electronica of Plaid and The Beyonders, these adventures
in jazz are essential. A must have. 10/10

. Mark Broom: Angie Is A Shoplifter rmx 12" (Pure Plastic)
Mark Broom enlists the remixing talents from some of the
heavyweights in the electronica scene - autechre, jega &
psychic warrior of gaia - for three most enjoyable remixes.
The a-side features a unique autechre remix which showcases
autechre's signatures electronic noodling over a pounding 4/4
beat making this one of the hardest autechre pieces of work
ever. The melodic noodling and hard beats compliment each
other divinely. The b-side starts with a punchy electro remix
by jega that skam/rephlex/MAS fans will love. Then b-side
finishes with a funky ultra down-tempo dub/triphopish PWOG
remix different than was previously released on the Pure
Plastic comp cd "Fake Fruit & Horrible Shoes." This is a
thoroughly enjoyable set of remixes. Highly recommended. 10/10

. Memory Foundation: Your Last Chance 12" (M-Plant)
The Hi-Lo guys back in top form with three tracks of minimal
techno with a touch of house giving this release a nice
Central meets Grow! label feel. The a1 & b2 both feature
the clean minimal techno sound with some faint housey synth
lines. The b1 has a much housier basic channel feel. All
three tracks are top shelf. Another gem for the Hi-Lo gang.
8/10

. John Tejada & Arian Leviste 12" (Palette)
John Tejada seems to be the man of the moment with new releases
coming from everywhere. So far this year he's released three
previous Palette 12"s in addition to material for Plug Research,
A13, Multiplex, XLR8R and Electric Labelland. This is his fouth
Palette 12" this time with his part-time Lucid Dream collaborator
Arian Leviste. Four excellent funky tech-house cuts here very
much in the Aubrey/As It Is vein. The a2 & b2 are my favorites
with a nice minimal but upbeat basic channel sound. 8/10

. Dorian Gig: Genesis 12" (Xplor)
Dorian's tracks first caught my interest last year when he
appeared on the Deepest Shade of Techno II alongside Titonton,
Todd Sines, Morgan Geist, and Claude Young. Now he's the second
artists released on the excellent Xplor label. Featured are
four quality melodic techno tracks in the john tejada or kevin
kennedy or as it is style. Favorites are the goove-laiden pounding
a2 track and the slow building minimal techno b1 track. Has dorian
done anything else because i'd love more of this stuff. 8/10
