The MC-4 came out after the MC-8. The MC-8 was notoriously
quirky and prone to crashing and wiping out all your data. I don't
think there was a way to back up your sequences. I seem to remember
an interview w. Suzanne Ciani and she was talking how a brief
power surge or something wiped out hours of work and they had to
rekey it in by hand all over again. In addition, the MC-4 allows you
to input notes via an external keyboard, the MC-8 was keypad
entry only. The MC-8 is certainly a rarity and probably worth having
from a historical perspective, but I can't see it being 'better' than
any of the other sequencers out there (old or new). I don't even use
my MC-4 much for note data; mostly as a trigger generator.
