Thanks Sevo - but see my follow up post from a few minutes ago.  Now =
that I'm actually supplying power to the wall wart (insert face palm =
here), I'm getting the correct voltages, but still same behavior with =
synth....

Though I'm still happy to keep debugging on my own, any recommendations =
from anyone for a tech in the Boston area that could help?
