Yeah, I totally agree. I know I'm missing some of it because at the
moment I only buy pretty much drum and bass. Everything else I hear from
tape swaps. I try but things stop me, like the things you list below. We
all have to compromise. In no way am I saying that I'm beyond missing
good music or that I've got all the best music, but I do know from
personal experience that (for me) Roni Size and his crew have made some
of the best music *ever* made. I want to share that, hence the web-site.
But if you don't make the effort to hear past whats coming out of your
radio then you're gonna miss lots, Roni Size or not, and the idea is to
grab as much as you can while you can and get as much of the good stuff
as possible, surely.

Uh-huh.

I totally agree. I don't half as much music for my money living here
than I did when I was in Manchester. That's why most of us get a buzz
about getting a lot of music we might like for very little money,
because it gives us the opportunity to take a wider look at whats going
on and hopefully get closer to that unattainable thing that is 'the best
music ever made'.

As for stealing music, I've never done it. I wouldn't be above it, I
think I'd just find it hard to get 12" under my coat! :-) And plus the
places I can shop at around here have 'em all behind the counter. :-(
Guess that's one good reason for being a CD (or even cassette) buyer...
;-)

Not so sure about this one. It depends what you're listening to, but
when forced you can squeeze music into many areas of your busy life by
listening to tapes in the car, getting a walkman or whatever. It doesn't
have to be a quiet or peaceful place. IMO, it's not just a solitary
confinement thing, or at least for me it isn't. Music in isolation is
good, but too much of it seems to lessen the effect of the music. Thats
why good clubs are so amazing.

Music complements life. Pretty much whatever you can do, you can do with
music, that's part of the beauty of it. Some music brings back such good
memories and is part of what made it good in the first place. IMO it's a
compliment to all the great things that can happen to a person and an
antidote to the really shitty things, but IMO it's at it's worst when it
accompanies the still, static parts of life.

Graham.
