What are you using to capture PAL video synth sessions? Many of us here are now using Eurorack and other format video synthesizers. I would like to see how people are capturing this video. Currently I have two different systems. One is PAL video. The other NTSC. For NTSC, capturing is easy. I have a Sony Mini-DV camera that can act as a capture / digitizer. This then can be sent to a computer with a FireWire link. Sadly, because of European copyright rules, all DV cameras in Europe have the video capture / digitize function disabled. So no such solution for PAL. I purchased a BlackMagic "Intensity Shuttle" to capture PAL video but it is utter rubbish. This device (and all BlackMagic devices I am told) will not capture anything but the most perfect and conditioned TBC'd video. Nowhere on the box does it mention this. The entire point of analogue video synthesis is to push the envelope and boundaries of video. This will never equal time base corrected video. So the BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle is a useless brick. If anyone on the list is capturing PAL video synth sessions, I would love to hear what you are using. PS: Hope this is not too OT.
