Speaking of Jenks, I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that Clifford
Gilberto Rhythm Combination IS Squarepusher. I mean, it can't possibly be
anyone else. Way too much similarity to even be an ape-ing of Tom-Tom. If
it's actually some other guy, I'd be REALLY surprised... I mean bad
autechre clones are one thing (Personally Disjecta are tha last ones I'd
place the Autechre-lite tag on... they've got a completely different set of
sounds/atmospheres) but DIRECT 'pusher chops (come on... fretless bass, the
same four breaks programmed with the exact same technical voracity, those
trademark 'happy' melodic nuggets, the rhodes piano bits, etc...) seem so
alien. Either way, If it's not SQP, I've got NO respect for the guy that
did this stuff... -Våt.
