There was a 12" out on Loaded about 4 months ago that was pretty stunning. Derrick Carter did a stripped-down remix of one of the tracks right before I went to Chicago, mid-august maybe. I think that this group will probably blow up as a hip crossover between r&b/funk and glitchy house. I think it is great, just the 12", I'd love to find the album... I think Christian Vogel has always had this potential, he was just making straighter techno before... Vogel's path seems similar to Luke Slater, who made hard HARD pounding techno with slight melody (for Peacefrog, GPR, etc for years) and is now getting more funk rhythms in his stuff. I have that last Vogel LP on Tresor and really recommend it for fans of Surgeon and maybe Stewart Walker. If you want crunchy (but stripped down) grooves with glitchy timbres and Prince-like drama over Bootsy's bass (underwater) ...check out the SuperCollider 12" on Loaded REcords. Reminded me of Funkadelic a bit, too.
