I mentioned it in passing in another post, but the Digital Dust comp on
Rawkus Records is amazing, much bretter, in my opinion, than Deep
Concentration. Also, if you're going to buy Dr. Octagon, by all means get
the instrumental version. I'm a fan of the Ultramagnetic MCs, but Kool
Keith's raps completely maul the amazing production done by Automator
(although it sadly also leaves off Q-Bert's contributions as well). Other
great hiphop selections to check out on the experimental tip are DJ Cam's
volume of the DJ Kicks series, featuring freestyles by just about every
east coast rapper, and the Latryx cd on Solesides is completely solid.

On the subject of the Deep Concentration cd...I checked out the Jurassic 5
cd after hearing the awesome Cut Chemist track on the compilation, and the
album sucks. Stock rappers and foul production made me wonder what exactly
he was doing with them in the first place.
