and while everyone is talking about drum synthesis (an admirable topic,
IMHO) please meditate on the fact that in the limiting case a bandpass
filtered noise source becomes an oscillator
and that the cheapest electronic sound sources are the chips in kiddies
press&sound books (my fave is the vacuum cleaner of Minnie Mouse - a great
SF DOOR OF DOOM effect when reversed and transposed down a few octaves)
