Hello Peter On 25.01.18 00:00 , Peter Forrest wrote: > I just heard from the tech who is looking at this Pearl SC40. > > "Very unfortunately although the pcb footprint looks like a normal Omron > tactile switch from behind they turn out to be some cheap nasty carbon puck > on a silicone dome type switch with a snap on custom cap (heck, even the > CASIO CZ1000 uses Omron switches!). this made me nervous, so I disassembled my SC40 - unfortunately not completely, because the frontpanel is partially very tricky to disassemble. But I took a picture from the rearside of the panel pcb; and appearently these switches are in fact soldered parts; they are not rubber stamp on printed pcb contact areas as we know it from keyboards. Then I went to my workshop and found immediately a momentary switch, which would fit the pcb. I can't tell you the brand or type, but it exists. It should not be too diffcult to mount / glue the switch caps on it. Maybe a brave soul recognizes the type of switches, the distance of the solder points is appearently 0.2 inches. pictures are here: http://www.florian-anwander.de/pearl_sc40/pearl_sc40_panelpcb.jpg http://www.florian-anwander.de/pearl_sc40/pearl_sc40_switchreplacement1.jpg http://www.florian-anwander.de/pearl_sc40/pearl_sc40_switchreplacement2.jpg Florian
