well, aside from all that...'Ege Bamyasi' is one of the best records in the history of the 'experimental rock' thing... Jaki/Holgar ryhthm section sounds more machine like than most machines but still comes off 100x more funky than any machine music . I'm not saying you should discount new music, but it's worth owning pretty much every Can record. If you get a chance check out the Can documantary in the 'Can Box' that Mute issued. Really excellent TV interview and performance footage. Good overview of the Can legacy. Jeff >> Most of the crucial Detroit stuff is actually very much in print; see >> www.submerge.com for details. As for your limited budget, just quit >> wasting money on Lexaunculpt and Funkstorung and all these other clowns >> who will never make a record one million billionth as great as Ege >> Bamyasi or Future Days (just to name a couple of Can records). > >yes!!!!! it's fun to be jaded about new music! being condescending to >newbies is bliss! they'll never be as good, that's for sure! they >weren't there when i was a teenager & music meant _everything_ to me & i >just so happened to stumble on those can records nobody wanted!! ah, if >it were all now like it was then!!!! why are they even trying?!?! >they'll _never_ make it!!!! > ></disgression type=sarcasm cause=friday style=overkill> > >-- >david
