Just bought Mezzanine : the new Massive Attack. Second run through, and I think I can fairly safely say that track 3, Teardrop, with Liz Fraser's mournfully floating vocals, can quite easily grace d's ever growing list of "songs that make you weep". In fact this whole album sounds dark and atmospheric - a far cry from Blue Lines hip-hoppiness which I really enjoyed. Too early to review as such, but it's definitely worth investigation. PS : somebody mentioned Coldcut's Timber as a 'songs that make you weep' - dunno : that one *definitely* touches me, but maybe more in a happy "up" way rather than a sad tear-y one. Anyway --- still holding out for the US/Canada release of Timber remixes; so far only the UK 5-track CD has made it down to the South of Africa. Ah : track 4 "Inertia Creeps" is also a contender in the weepy saga (M/Attack). Bye! I *
