I picked up the 12" last weekend at Mod Lang, Berkeley. I somehow forgot
to listen to the original mix, but the Black Dog remix is a mid-speed
funky rhythmic workout, very reminiscent of some of the Bullitt remixes,
with some minimal melody sprinkled over the top. Very nice, but it helps
to be a fan already, it's not something everybody might go ga-ga over.

Another nice remix is the Plaid remix of Alien's Frankie the Prankster,
out on Blue Room. I wasn't that impressed the first time, I thought the
melody was nice and that was about it, but nowadays I'm playing it at
least once or twice a day. It helps to be a huge sucker for a good
melody.

Did anyone track down that South American release? Plan V vs The Black
Dog? Any leads to where I might get my grubby hands on a copy, short of
planning a vacation trip to Argentina? Have listers in Japan had better
luck, perhaps? Thanks for any info.

Playing now: oldies but goldies... Aphex Twin: On (u-ziq remix)
