Time to get ill, kids! A recent blurb(ette) in Cosmo (don't ask) offered a typically insightful, enlightening, and well-researched commentary on ethnomusicology. Said blurb was wise enough to recommend the not-very-underground Anokha comp of Talvin Singh, "Sounds from the Asian Underground". All good and fine, if a bit late. The killer: the comp was described (congratulated?) as following on the heels of the interest in Indian-electronica fusions initiated by no less than - dare I say it? - Madonna. Sincere apologies if any strokes have been induced by this message. Restlessly, 3 on now: "Exotica" soundtrack, Mychael Danna + Hector Zazou "Sahara Blue" + Jon Hassell "Dressing for Pleasure"
